In 2016, over 8,000 visitors came to downtown Troy, New York for the first Troy Mini Maker Faire, celebrating the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. Some 40+ Makers showcased their projects, activities, and crafts in interactive exhibits and workshops. Attendees and Makers gathered from around the Capital Region and throughout the Northeast to share interests and information, learn new skills, and explore new technologies.

In addition, Troy Mini Maker Faire is held in conjunction with The Enchanted City, a lively and entertaining steampunk festival now in its third year. The Enchanted City blends Victorian style with futuristic enhancements, featuring costumed characters, contests, and music.
